Portable FPV Ground Station: Printed Stand and Transmitter Mount

I made a printed stand for my FPV monitor and a cradle for its battery. The April photos show the bench setup. By June I had mounted a display above my RadioMaster TX16S.

Bench stand and battery cradle

The feet extend past the monitor and the battery sits low behind it. That puts the pack where I can unplug it without reaching around the sunshade.

The battery sits behind the display in an open cradle. The connectors remain accessible.

The open cradle lets me lift the pack straight out on the bench. I’d add a restraint before carrying the setup with the pack installed.

Clearance at the monitor ports

Side clearance for the power plug, cable loop, and monitor ports.

The barrel plug turns 90 degrees out of the monitor. I left room for the plug and the cable bend without covering the AV ports or card slot.

I left a small loop in the power lead so removing the pack wouldn’t put tension on the monitor jack.

Mounting a screen on the TX16S

A later configuration places the monitor directly above the transmitter.

The screen sits above the radio with the sticks, switches, and built in display still accessible. Both video antennas extend above the monitor.

That puts more weight above my hands and gives the antenna stalks more leverage on the connectors. Those are the two things I’d look at before making the mount taller.
